Environmental Project Manager

This is a full time position based in our Calgary office.  Project work will be focused on upstream reclamation projects mainly for oil and gas and various midstream, governmental and service company clients.  Regular field work assignments at locations throughout Alberta will be a significant component of the position.  All work will be conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Technical and Management staff.

The ideal candidate will possess the following background and experience:

  • University degree or technical diploma focusing on soil science, environmental studies, agrology, geology or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 3 to 6 years environmental consulting experience
  • Significant experience with all aspects of site reclamation activity on public and private lands in Alberta
  • Strong familiarity with current reclamation guidelines and criteria applicable to sites in Alberta
  • Significant "hands-on" field experience (including pre-site inspections, reclamation assessments, weed identification and control, soils classification, detailed site assessments, landowner relations and site/contractor supervision during larger reclamation projects)
  • Well developed technical report writing and preparation skills including experience with reclamation cost estimates, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Field Reports, Pre-Site Assessments and Reclamation Certificate Applications
  • Ability to work independently and effectively liaise with contractors, landowners and clients
  • A current professional designation or the ability to obtain a professional/technical designation in Alberta would be considered an asset
  • As our need to fill this position is immediate, candidates must currently be eligible to work in Canada and must reside in Alberta.

Senior Environmental Project Manager

The ideal candidate will possess the following background and experience:

  • University or technical degree focusing on geology, engineering, environmental studies or a related technical field
  • An Alberta professional/technical designation
  • A minimum of 10 years environmental consulting experience
  • Significant experience with Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments, site remediation and reclamation processes and very strong familiarity with the associated Alberta site assessment requirements, soil and groundwater quality criteria and environmental-based operational regulations 
  • Experience with risk management type remediation projects (Tier 2, SST) would be considered an asset
  • Significant "hands-on" field experience in a leadership or supervisory role for all aspects of field work (Phase 2s , spill response, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, groundwater monitoring, in situ groundwater testing, use and care of field equipment, soil and groundwater remediation, reclamation)
  • Well-developed technical report writing and technical review skills including lead experience with cost proposals, Phase 1 and 2 reporting, remedial action plans, site specific liability assessments, detailed site assessments and reclamation certificates and remediation closure reports
  • Ability to work independently and effectively liaise with contractors, landowners and clients

Junior Environmental Scientist

This is a full time position based out of our Calgary office.  Project work will be focused on upstream reclamation projects mainly for oil and gas and various midstream, governmental and service company clients.  Regular field work assignments at locations throughout Alberta will be a significant component of the position.  All work will be conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Technical and Management staff.

The ideal candidate will possess the following background and experience:

  • University degree or technical diploma focusing on environmental studies, agrology, geology or engineering or a related technical field
  • Two years minimum experience conducting various types of environmental projects including some independent field work 
  • Knowledge of the Phase 1 and 2 and remediation process and associated guidelines in Alberta
  • Knowledge of reclamation process and documentation
  • Knowledge of technical report preparation
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Any "hands-on" field experience (including pre-site inspections, reclamation assessments, weed identification and control, soils classification, detailed site assessments, landowner relations and site/contractor supervision during larger reclamation projects) would be considered an asset.
  • The ability to eventually obtain a professional or technical designation would be considered an asset
